I've been watching some videos in the shape of deep dives, in between videos about putting your phone down and going for a walk.
Apparently when a 'filter bubble' is mindful & intentional you get to call it a 'media ecosystem'. I already accepted the term 'filter bubble' & didn't think it was derogatory but that's fine, arguing about terms is not one of my hobbies.
I liked 'The Boring Influencer Factory' because I don't feel she's attacking the boring girls for being boring, she's conscious that they're doing it because it demonstrably works under 2025 capitalism. These women in their colourless rooms are, weird as it is, at work. They are at their jobs. Their job is to wear that foundation and buy that lamp and straighten that bedsheet. That being a job is a symptom.
Purchase of the week: new foam for our sofa cushions. We had been jolly & humorous about the butt dents for over a year, but actually that was damaging our backs. Neither of us naturally sit with both buttocks on a seat & both feet on the floor, so there's always going to be a posture slant, but the slant of choice while compensating for a structural slant was doing harm. So, for something under £100, two cut-to-measure oblongs of that yellow foam topped with wadding & wrapped in stockinette arrived by courier. They were easy to put in the existing zip covers & now the sofa is not actively a spinal injury risk.
(The dogs, unsurprisingly, are annoyed by this. They really liked the butt dents. I'm going to sew a casing for the old cushion foam pieces and make them a little futon or pouffe, preserving the dents for... posterity. (ahahahaha))
420g strong flour, 275ml milk and warm water mix, 4 tablespoons fat, 2 teaspoons yeast, 2 tbsp sugar for the yeast, 2 tsp salt for you.
Stir with wooden spoon until it's a dough and your shoulder hurts, then cover bowl with teatowel & go do something else for at least an hour. After an hour, give the risen dough another stir & check the rising is even, then use two spoons to form blobs of like 7cm diameter, blob those into air fryer as far apart as possible. We have the round kind of air fryer so maximum three blobs.
Cook for 10-15 minutes on whatever temperature setting you left the air fryer on.
Tear apart and eat while ouchie hot, dabbing butter on the torn edge. Then continue making blobs and cooking them until the dough is gone. No idea how long they keep, it's never been an issue.
I'm not a cook or a baker. I don't know what you can substitute or amend. I'm sure it won't make this without the high gluten flour, but it'll make a different thing that still might be nice. I don't know if you can use grated cheese as the fat, but I will probably try soon.
My shopping basket at wob.com is now up to 19 books (£71) so instead of checking out I typed 'second hand book haul' into youtube to see if the vicarious version would work. It did. Look at this splendour:
She's so funny.
books: I'm back on Uncle Gil with All Things Considered but I MUST stop reading free public domain books right after this one and read my library books. The soonest-expiring loan is The Moss House and I don't remember why I wishlisted it or when, but the summary looks fun, doesn't it.
