w11: sunday review
things I intended to do and did:
- delete Reddit account and block the domain;
- check the contents of the go bags;
- some admin for another person that was useful to them and took HOURS but uninteresting to you;
- attend second course tutorial (see 'things I did not enjoy');
- cut my hair;
- ordered prints of a fraction of the photos I exported from my IG.
things i intended to do and did not:
- pull nails out of the fence boards I took down before winter;
- assemble the ikea sunnersta;
- clear the conservatory tables and bring seed trays in from the greenhouse.
things I enjoyed:
- being woken by sunlight most days;
- queueing up a bunch of essay-style youtube videos from people with calm voices talking about things that aren't my problem (fast fashion, trends and style, fandom drama);
- putting my phone on greyscale again (on Android: accessibility, colour correction) and removing the quick shortcut to turn it back this time.
- Readwise and Reader, especially when the helpdesk applied the 50% student discount to my account;
- my haircut, honestly;
- seeing the full moon;
- getting the decent camera out because I wanted to upload a photo and the decent camera is blessedly free of location data;
- library book Cahokia Jazz - reminded me strongly of The Gone-Away World, but I haven't unpicked that;
- pulling text posts and duplicates out of my old tumblr, identifying its essence;
- the first half of my sunny walk on Saturday.
things I did not enjoy:
- 'tutorial' - she read the slides to us. The slides were on screen. The slides (.ppt) had already been sent to us, and I had already recognised the content as pasted directly from the course books. Also, this is the third time I've asked a question and instead of answering she tells me that that isn't on the assignment. I will not be 'attending' (opening the link) for the other five tutorials.
- the second half of my walk on Saturday. I need new insoles in my boots. No actual injury, but not as peaceful as the first half.
- being back on Duolingo, honestly. It was worth a shot, but it's still not for me. Too peppy? Too 'lol we're so random'? Instead I have added the Slow German news podcast into my rotation, where it can startle me awake after I've fallen asleep to In Our Time.
intents for week 12:
- clear the conservatory tables and bring the seed trays in;
- decide whether I want to wait to start seeds under a waxing moon;
- pull nails out of the fence boards;
- remove spiteful comments from assignment and upload;
- keep my phone in greyscale all week.
